A career, full-time position.
Essential Functions:
Under the general supervision of the Software Services Manager, this position provide programming service to the Student Affairs Division's departments and their extended operations. This programming service includes consulting, requirement analysis, specification creation, technical design, and application development. Maintain computer operations, database systems and web site and Internet applications.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience with web application tools and various software used to support web page development and deployment in a Microsoft technical environment.
Experience with web graphics and web multimedia techniques, including interactive programming, filtering and file conversions.
Experience with network systems and protocols, hardware, third party applications, development tools, and report writers, including crystal reports.
Experience with relational databases, must be proficient in Microsoft SQL.
Experience with a range of programming and query languages, including Microsoft Visual Basic, ASP.NET, DHTML, Javascript, XML, XSLT, SOAP, and web services.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio.
Skill in evaluating and analyzing complex concepts or knowledge of past discrepancies, trends, and relationships, and applying the concepts appropriately.
Skill in determining needs and requirements to create a conceptual design.
Superior oral and written communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate using tact and diplomacy with internal and external campus community.
Demonstrated skill in expressing ideas clearly and convincingly.
Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues.
Skill in setting priorities, working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Skill in developing a vision or image of how a system/process should operate under ideal circumstances.
Ability to work effectively in a strong service environment that is subject to constantly changing priorities.
Hired applicant must possess a valid California Driver's License; and must successfully pass a background check through the Department of Justice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Microsoft Certification.
